About the event
This series builds from Ohio Naturally’s seasonal Fire Circles for educators in 2023. In 2024, we widen our circle to include other leaders in the environmental, non-profit, and business fields. A leader is anyone who is anyone who takes responsibility for the growth of others or brings others together to move work forward. Nature Based Leadership builds on the work by Cheryl Charles and her book Coming Home. Over the course of the year, we will explore the 8 Leadership Guides found in nature, Leadership preferences, ways to pace our work, and diverse voices and perspectives from many fields of thinking. Short readings will be shared prior to each meeting to deepen discussions-book club style!
This gathering is for: educators, nature-based educators, environmentalists, parents, non-profit professionals, business leaders, those who want to grow their leadership practices and value our natural environment.
Our autumn discussion will focus on leadership and learning preferences and the push and pull of two of Nature's Guides: Cooperation & Competition. Be sure to register soon so you get the short readings.
Dinner will be provided each evening to allow us to keep these events free-simple is OK! Drinks and dining wear will be provided by our host. Plan to walk and sit in the outdoors, but we will have access to the indoors if weather becomes extreme. Space is accessible. Seating accomodations can be made, please let us know in your RSVP if these would be helpful. Please register so that we can communicate with you prior to the event with any materials or last minute communication.
We are located on the bottom level of the Carriage Hill MetroPark Visitor center. The top portion will be locked during our meeting. When you park in the lot, walk down the hill to the right. You will see a sign for Wildflower Child & Family Center where our meeting will occur.
